Training Programs

Our programs provide trainees with an opportunity to participate in groundbreaking, interdisciplinary research in such areas as health promotion and prevention, long-term care, community-based systems of care, healthcare organizations, and methodological approaches to health services research.

Our center is home to two postdoctoral fellowship programs: an AHRQ Postdoctoral Program (National Research Service Award, #5T32HS000011-35) and a Surdna Fellowship Program. Fellows graduating from all programs have gone on to publish widely in their respective fields and have assumed positions in major research institutions throughout the country.

Students interested in collaborating with our faculty on a summer project should explore Brown's Irwin E. and Barbara Ginsberg P’84 Aging Research Fund opportunity.

AHRQ Postdoctoral Fellowship (T32)

In this program clinician and non-clinician scientists not only work together on funded projects—they also teach each other about the clinical aspects of the population and the research methods necessary to study it systematically.

Surdna Fellowship

Junior faculty fellowships funded by an endowment from the Surdna Foundation.

Ginsberg Aging Research Fund

This award provides support for Brown University medical or Master's level public health student projects related to aging and mentored by School of Public Health faculty.
