Dementia is a significant health issue. More than 400,000 Australians are living with dementia today and, without a medical breakthrough, it is estimated that up to 1.1 million Australians will be living with dementia by 2058. This lecture series, to take place in all Australian states during Brain Awareness Week, will engage leaders in dementia research and aged care to discuss the significant and growing challenge of improving quality of life and dementia care.

International keynote speaker

Dr. Vincent Mor is the Florence Pirce Grant University Professor, and Professor of Health Services, Policy & Practice at the Brown University School of Public Health. For nearly 40 years, Dr. Mor’s research has focused on the effect of variations in health care delivery systems on frail, and chronically ill people. Dr. Mor is funded by the National Institute on Aging to undertake a large Program Project Grant - Shaping Long Term Care in America. He is now leading several clinical trials of non-pharmacological treatments for people with dementia that are fully embedded in functioning health care systems.
